If players are wanting to make her a very strong physical attacker, this lance is the one for Fang. The only downside of this weapon is that it has the Stagger Lock effect, but this can always be balanced by another character. Vanille is just as strong as Hope when it comes to being a mage, but she is the best Saboteur in the group.
If players are wanting to use her Saboteur abilities to their max potential , the Belladonna Wand is the best staff to equip.
This staff has the Improved Debuffing passive ability which increases the success rate of debuff abilities. It has the Improved Cure passive which increases spell recovery amount which means stronger heals.
Vanille would be a slightly better choice for a healer since she has higher HP than Hope. Snow is the most powerful Sentinel in the group and has the highest HP. Umbra will increase his HP even more and make him a very useful tank in battle. This weapon also has the Improved Ward effect , which gives Snow and the party higher defense from area of effect attacks. If players find themselves in a fight with AoEs, having Snow in the party wearing this can help make the battle a little easier.
If players are wanting to use Snow more as a Commando than his other two roles, the Power Circle is a great weapon for him. This weapon also reduces physical damage that Snow takes in battle. Fang: Dragoon Lance pure strength is really the only choice here.
Again, another weapon needed for that speed farming after you finish the game. You won't be able to get it early on, so use whatever offers the best strength for her until then. Typically Fang makes your best Attacker. Jadeskye : Snow is one of the best characters to have for speed turtle farming.
Addfwyn : I guess it's been a long time since i S-ranked FF I didn't use snow or Sazh at all. Better tactics have been developed i guess. Shaves an hour or two off the grind. Addfwyn : What does using snow's magic do then? Jadeskye : You're using him as a Jammer for Daze primarily.
Normal Daze is only obtainable by Fang who you need to be attacking Sazh and Snow. Snow's cast animations are better synced with Fang's attacks and Sazh's Blaster animations are awkward as well. Snow has way higher magic potential than Sazh too, especially with the Feymarks. That way Fang will be hitting for double damage on the tortoise when you knock him down. Assuming you don't have the accessories when you are first starting out for auto haste and the like, you start with Fang buffing the party then go to triple Blaster to stagger one leg.
Of course, paradigm canceling as necessary to get actions out faster. Should be downing turtles in minutes that way. Log In Sign Up. Keep me logged in on this device Forgot your username or password? Don't have an account? Sign up for free! What are the best weapons for each character, and why?
What weapons generally seem to be the best for each character, given the stats of the weapon and they're special abilities compared to the roles that character usually fulfills? Do any seem to be overwhelmingly better than the rest for a character ex. Are there any that should be avoided ex. I want to know before I spend a whole bunch of time and effort upgrading weapons that may be complete trash or may never get used later on.
I know that this question is based heavily on my play style, that every character can and probably will file out every role at some point, yada-yada-yada.
I get that. However, since there are some roles for each character that they excel at and some that they suck at i. I wonder this as well. I didn't realize until I got the 3rd weapons that they aren't necessarily 'better' or 'worse', just that some favor Magic and some favor Strength, but all seem worth having.
I would also like to request not only the weapon names, but the chapters and maybe even locations of these weapons. User Info: xocgx. Top Voted Answer. Part2: Hope - 1 By the end of the game, Hope will have the highest Magic stat in your party which can be greatly complimented by his Hawkeye weapon as it has the highest magic stat.
It has a decent magic stat aswell. Howver it also belongs to the synthesis group of Ultimate Physic whcih will see you using Hope in a completely different role. Vanille - 1 As Vanille's role rely heavily on her magic stat, it makes sense to equip her with the Pearlwing Staff as it will maximise her Magic dealing potential.
It's also picked up fairly early in the story. Its magic stat isn't too shabby either. Fang - 1 Since Fang's Saboteur role can be vital in some situations, her Pandoran Spear is an excellent choice with its Improved Debilitation ability.
Combine this with her area effect spells and your enemies collapsing under the pressure. Who needs party members when you can summon non-stop???
