I don't think it would impact the economy of the game too hard since you can make treasure key drops less likely or whatever, but it would be a pretty decent way to reward people for playing a lot but not having that much free cash to wave around.

Tags: None. The way they "reward people for playing a lot" is already letting them get items for free on the end of each match. Comment Post Cancel. Poor way to reward when half those items are going to be useless I mean, basically you have a chance to get a chest or a proper item at the end of the game. I understand that chests are supposed to encourage people to buy keys, but the fact that you're not sure what you're going to get from a chest means that most people won't open them; I know I won't.

I wonder if people have statistics to see how many chests were assigned and how many opened? Just treat it as this, you can obtain rare items after game ends eg: courier worth keys, excavators d. Just treat those as treasure keys drop! It's not a poor way. You don't even need to win. Is that a poor way? Human beings are always wanting more than they can get, no matter what. No, but these are random. I've bought several items.

I personally don't think it is worth it. Sure its a random luck thing to get a sick item. But if I put real money up for something I want to know exactly what I am getting. On February 13 FFGenerations wrote: a trading DOWN for random rares in order to bet on matches since any rare is worth the same as each other here. I buy 1 key for every new chest that is released. I am 29 and can afford to spend 2. Most of the time the items you get are nothing special and honestly not worth the price.

I have an immortal lockjaw from the third chest i ever opened. I can almost guarantee, i have or had, items that are worth more then i have spent. I had beta long ago, the best items i had where from a time when few people had access to the game.

FFGeneration, that's some very interesting insight. However, it's not really in the area I'm talking about. I appreciate that the trading going on on sites like those is probably really hard to get into, and the whole trading for keys thing is fishy.

I'm just talking pure community market, where the statistics clearly show that items do sell quite easily, because I can see just how many items were sold at what price during what time of the day, and the items I checked from the vermilion chests sold at least 10 a day or so, at a higher price than keys cost, in the store.

I'm not saying "I just got the Odachi when I leveled up my account, can I trade it for arcana on d2l? I'm talking about the ability to cover your loss, by being able to sell the items for the money the key cost, so that when you buy a key and open a chest, you're not really gambling because if you get one of the items you didn't want, you can simply sell it immediately. Treasure keys are used for all sorts of transactions in Dota 2. The trades are usually carried out in online communities such as the Dota 2 Lounge or Facebook groups such as The Black Market.

Check out some fan reactions from Reddit :. Keys have skyrocketed to 30 bucks in the market. Only ten left as I write this.
