Going to MEPS. Thread starter jorgelito Start date Jun 20, My recruiter said it will be from 5am-noonish in San Diego. He's gonna drive a bunch of us at 3am. So to clarify, we're supposed to bring all our docs, white t's and white skivies. Does that mean briefs or are boxer briefs ok too? Also, do we get food for that whole time? Do they test us on our PT then or is that a separate event? It was weird. Really, really weird. Pages: 1 2 See entire article on one page.
Sara is a bay area hybrid, who currently resides in a tiny, sweltering desert town in Nevada. She loves: coffee, chocolate, avocados, books, whiskey, wine, and her cats in no particular order. Some of her favorite down time activities include: watching workout videos and not working out, cooking mostly the eating part at the end , reading, and marathoning TV shows on the internet.
She also enjoys parenthetical remarks and muscle tees. I went to basic in the winter, which meant we went home for Christmas, so I brought boxers back with me. Your sense of humor is so gemeeeeeeeeel beautiful in Arabic because only Arabic will do. Aah, my visit was pretty much the same, except the van was much nicer and the trip much shorter only Dayton to Columbus , and I was just about dying during the physical because I had to pee so bad during the entire thing.
Managed to make a friend, though! I go up the third week of September! I would have wet myself. And mad props for holding it that long. I am so thankful you mentioned the second page…. I was sitting here wondering why it ended so abruptly while reading the comments haha. All most personnel care about is upholding your freedoms and your rights.
The only people that make it an issue are the same people that make the news. Hooray for public affairs! But if you think that random Marine was scary or intense, wait until you get to Ft. Nothing like a pack of new Marines who think they are on top of the world. They will literally stand outside of the DINFOS building and scream about blood making the grass grow every single morning. We are a strange breed. Good luck! I will never forget that moment when it really hit me that I was giving the army 6 years of my life and what I was giving up because of it.
It all worked out for the best though. I owe a lot of my self confidence, pride, and general awesomeness to my experiences in the army. That pretty much sounds like how I remember it. Fortunately they messed one of my tests up so all I had to do was refuse to retake it and sign some discharge papers. Course this was years ago.
Anyway, enjoy your last month or so of freedom and then have fun at basic. I would have thought if anything that they would want everyone to wear sports bras considering the physical training involved. Rules, what do I know. I love your description of that moment of butch companionship. And being a puppy running through the tall grass. And all of it! And good luck!
The no sports bras thing is only for MEPS, when you actually get to basic everyone has to wear sports bras. They actually issue them to you. I remember one guy in my flight who came in looking like a biker. He had the biker jacket and boots and even long ass hippie hair. Anyways I came in with a black shirt and jeans, never got called out. The only time I remember people getting yelled at for clothing was when we first met one of our TIs.
He was calling people out and kept yelling "Tuck in your shirt! Crimson , Oct 21, No, no boxers anymore. I did have a MALE trainee show up in skin-tight jeans, a white studded belt, a skin-tight shirt with holes in it. He made it to 45 minutes after lights out, and then requested to see a chaplain don't ask me how hw knew. Anyway, he never made it into a uniform.
Another win for the good guys, IMO. Joined: Aug 5, Messages: 1, Drinking: No. Make sure you wear tall leather hooker boots with a tight red booby showing bellyshirt and black mini skirt with a thong. Good luck! AFMochaMomma , Oct 21, Frank , Oct 21, Think i wore tennis shoes, shorts, and a polo. Wish i had worn jeans and taken a jacket. Got there 2 Jan and in my home state southern NM it was still warm enough for shorts.
Got to San Antonio at the butt crack of dawn and was freezing my ass off. Only good part was it kept me awake. Most applicants will share a room with another applicant and are expected to be considerate of other guests and hotel property.
