Why no 2011 passat

Have covered , miles in 4 years without fault. DSG gearbox is best thing about the car - don't see why you would ever have a manual again. Switched from long life to 10, mile oil changes which I would recommend - you don't want to see long life oil at 18, miles! Also must change DSG oil at 40, miles.

Not as good a driver as some competitors but this is a quality product which if driven and looked after carefully will reward with excellent service.

Version 1. Average annual mileage 5, — 9, No problems experienced. Average annual mileage 10, — 14, Average annual mileage 0 — 4, Owned Less than a year. Some faults but overall good.

Running Cost. Good mpg for with my first diesel. Version litre, Diesel, Manual. Bought Car Used. No other breakdowns. A number of replacement parts needed-new injectors on VOSA recall, new suspension bushes, new shock absorbers. Previously I serviced my cars myself, making it cheap and convenient. Passat requires use of laptop and relevant software for servicing, recalibration after fitting new parts etc.

It has been excellent from day one - never missed a beat! I do a lot of my own work, but the main dealer servicing has been good and not needed any spare parts as yet.

Has not failed at any time since I have owned it. Starts easily in cold weather, and again in hot weather. Diesel is unreasonably expensive in comparison to Petrol. Apart from servicing costs, there are no particular issues. Generally very good. Not really sure. Seems to get through tyres more than previous cars. I have also a three year service plan so costs over this period should be minimal.

Owned More than 5 years. Minor niggles due to age but car is solid. VW parts are easily accessible but not cheap. There are alternatives for less but I have had issues when I have used them. Disappointed that the Air-Con Compressor and Radiator failed. Even as an older model it is still quite reliable so costs have not been bad.

A few niggly faults - rear wash doesn't work but nothing that stops the car from being used. For a 19 year old car it is great. For the first five years it was very reliable but then niggly little problems started emerging such as doors jamming, electrical problems with the heater fan and airbag sensors.

Generally very economical on fuel, oil etc and because of low mileage servicing has been reasonable. Other than tyres and servicing not had a problem. Is there any special reason why you bought this car? What was the dealer like? Sales - excellent. Sorting our problems thereafter, not so good Driving it 4 out of 5 4.

What's it like to drive? What's it like to park? Its a large car and did not come with sensors, which is surprising. Living with it 4 out of 5 4.

Have you had any problems with the car? What's most practical about your car? The more powerful 2. The entry-level bhp 1. Buyers wanting a bit more grunt should opt for the bhp or bhp 2. Higher up the range, more powerful versions are offered with an automatic gearbox, which is fast and efficient, and even lets drivers change gears through steering-wheel-mounted paddles.

Excellent body control and accurate steering ensure the car is capable enough through corners, although it lacks the sense of fun provided by rivals like the Ford Mondeo and Mazda 6. The Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion version offers the best fuel economy in the range — with a 1.

Both the standard 1. Even the more powerful 2. VW also offers several service packages to help ease the burden of expensive repair bills if something was to go wrong.

The Volkswagen Passat is still a class contender, despite its age - it still looks quite sharp and fits in with premium rivals such as the Skoda Superb.

The front end is characterised by the familiar Volkswagen face, featuring stylish headlights that flow into a bold grille, with attractive taillights and a smooth bumper providing strong visual appeal at the rear end. Entry-level Volkswagen Passat S versions get inch alloy wheels, while top-of-the-range Sport models get inch rims and a chrome trim around the windows and bumpers.

New R-Line models come with inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights and a sporty styling pack. Buyers should be aware that Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion models don't feature alloy wheels - they get steel wheels instead, which are specially designed to maximise aerodynamic efficiency.

The headlights have also been changed and feature LEDs while the rear receives new tail-lights with subtle chrome highlights extending down the side of the car. The petrols comprise 1. The diesel choice features a 1. All engines come with six-speed manual or twin-clutch DSG gearboxes seven speeds for the smaller engines; six for the high-torque models.

In R-Line trim was added. This includes a body kit, sports suspension and inch alloy wheels. The Passat is a pretty strong option for buyers looking for a relatively affordable estate with a badge that might impress the neighbours.
