You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Romans But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. Isaiah Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart. You have hidden your face from us and made us waste away because of our sins. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John , For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.
After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time. For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. For Catholics, this might mean receiving the sacraments , such as being baptised or getting married. For Protestants , this might mean a personal acceptance of Jesus as the Lord and Saviour. The ideas of salvation and atonement are very closely linked in Christianity.
Atonement is the idea of the relationship between humans and God being healed, with God and humanity becoming united. This quote from the Gospel of John shows the belief that God allowed the process of human atonement to begin by sending Jesus into the world. Instead, it can be achieved by believing in God and his son Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit helps Christians to follow the teachings of God, and God recognises that everyone will sin but that they will turn to God in repentance Acts This means that, despite sinning, humans will try to make amends and ask for forgiveness by agreeing that God exists.
Why was Jesus able to take away the sins of the world? In this sense, salvation is deliverance from sin and its penalty. His offer of eternal life is not a life that only begins after death. It is that quality of life that is eternal, beginning at the moment one believes in Jesus and continuing into eternity.
Eternal life in heaven is a free gift that is based on the grace of God. As a free gift, it cannot be earned or deserved. Man cannot save himself by good works or any other means. God loves you and wants you to have this free gift of eternal life in heaven.
